Abstract:
Abstract To be successful in a new organization, the newcomer employee needs to establish an adequate level of performance, develop cooperative relationships with colleagues, and fit into the overall culture of the organization (Cooper-Thomas & Anderson, 2006). This process of getting up to speed in a new role is referred to as organizational socialization. An optimal organizational socialization experience is critical for the wellbeing and performance of new employees and of their colleagues, and for continuing organizational productivity (Bauer, Bodner, Erdogan, Truxillo & Tucker, 2007; Saks, Uggerslev & Fassina, 2007).
