Chapter 9 in New Loss Prevention, 2009, pp 129-162 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract In the previous two chapters we outlined the underlying premise of New Loss Prevention — the importance of recognising the role operational failures can have in creating the opportunities and circumstances for shrinkage to occur and how they can be identified through the use of the Shrinkage Road Map. In this next chapter we put this thinking into a broader framework offering an overarching model for delivering effective shrinkage management. This framework seeks to put operational failures within a broader context of the retail organisation and how a series of elements need to be in place in order for shrinkage to be targeted in a rigorous, robust and sustainable manner.
