Abstract:
Abstract This chapter examines two issues of relevance to macroeconomic stabilization policy, one relating to monetary policy, the other to fiscal policy. The first concerns the impact of unexpected inflation on domestic borrowers and lenders in the economy and what this implies for the conduct of monetary policy.
