Abstract:
Abstract The emergence of a significant “digital divide” between industrialized and developing countries is reproducing existing patterns of inequality with regard to these new information and communication technologies (Castells, 1996). With the trend of global communication deregulation, numerous telecom monopolies have been broken up, enabling new players to emerge in the growing marketplace. Continuing technological innovations like digitalization in computing and communications sectors have made the internet and associated web services available worldwide. Consequently, the great demand for telecom infrastructure equipment and related software products has skyrocketed, bringing remarkable growth to the ICT industry in the past few years.
