Stress

Neil Thompson

Chapter 1 in Promoting Workplace Well-Being, 2009, pp 3-15 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract It is no coincidence that this very first chapter addresses the question of stress in the workplace. This topic was deliberately chosen as our starting point, as it is a major — probably the major — way that other workplace problems manifest themselves. That is, other workplace problems can be difficult enough in their own right, but are also likely to add to people’s pressures and therefore cause or exacerbate stress.
