Abstract:
Abstract The fifth and final element in effecting a cure for crises is better supervision. This has two aspects: micro-supervision, or the supervision of individual institutions, and macro-supervision, or the supervision of the financial system as a whole, including its interaction with macroeconomic policy, especially monetary policy.
