Abstract:
Abstract The favourable international economic environment during 2002–07 generated an export boom in Bolivia, primarily in hydrocarbons, minerals and agricultural products. At the same time, however, the country went through a period of political instability that has weakened institutions, severely worsened the investment climate and reduced the room to manoeuvre for public policy making.
