Chapter Chapter 2 in Football Management, 2010, pp 19-56 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract This chapter discusses the challenges of being a leader, or manager, in football. Analysis of these challenges is based on interviews with football managers as well as on data drawn from media interviews with football managers. The challenges are mainly discussed using the football managers’ own description of what they do and what they consider to be the main issues.
