Innovations in Private Sector Provision of Infrastructure in South Korea

Chapter 3 in Innovations in Financing Public Services, 2010, pp 38-58 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The growth of the Korean economy has necessitated a continuous investment in infrastructure facilities. However, limited resources in the pubic sector have led the Korean government to utilise private capital investment in infrastructure facilities. Since the introduction of Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) in 1994, private participation in infrastructure (PPI) projects has been growing rapidly to meet current infrastructure demands.
