Abstract: Abstract Asked to nominate reasons for British pre-eminence in modern motorsports, overseas rivals usually begin with the variety of race tracks and test facilities that this small island possesses. In this chapter we explore this unique strength of the industry in mainland Britain in depth and some of the people who organize a plethora of weekend motor sport that is the envy of the competitive automotive world.
