Case Study — Research and Technology Organisation
James Callaghan
Chapter 6 in Inside Intranets and Extranets, 2002, pp 105-143 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter presents the second of the three case studies. This particular case study focuses on the use of an extranet and investigates the issues that arose as a result of using Internet technologies to facilitate new ways of sharing information with other organisations. Table 6.1 illustrates how this case study sits in relation to the other two case studies. As mentioned in Chapter 4 when discussing the research methodology, the purpose of the table is just to show the initial objective for deployment of the intranet/extranet in each of the three case studies. As will be seen, a wide range of issues arose during the case study and the limitations of this table will be discussed later in Chapter 9. Nevertheless, the table serves as a useful starting point.
