Country Strategic Thinking

Chapter 2 in Strategy and Entrepreneurship in Arab Countries, 2008, pp 31-58 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Capitalist thinking induces the most creative patterns of strategic thinking. And the very shift from non-market systems of economic organization into a market-based structure induces this strategic creativity. Symptoms of strategic behavior are varied, ranging from the introduction of financial market tools and instruments to the increase in private initiative and the restructuring of government functions. This is usually accompanied by a change in the scope and scale of business and the way it conducts its mission.
