Chapter 9 in Managing in a Political World, 2010, pp 109-129 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Just as decisions about which jobs to apply for (and whether or not to accept them if offered) are crucial ones for chief executives in the context of their long-term career aspirations, so are decisions about when to seek to leave existing posts and apply for new jobs, either in other local authorities or (more rarely) in other public sector organisations.
