A Tear in the Social Fabric

Colin Read

Chapter 28 in The Rise and Fall of an Economic Empire, 2010, pp 247-250 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract The last two centuries brought unprecedented wealth and affluence to the group of the First Economic World. In a few decades, the majority of the planet will have access to that same affluence brought about by free markets and our competitive juices. This convergence will create some challenges arising from size and affluence that must nonetheless be overcome.
