Milestone moments
Peter Shaw
Chapter 2 in Defining Moments, 2010, pp 17-23 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Milestone moments are times when there is new clarity. Sometimes milestone moments come together; at other times they might well be strung out. Milestone moments might be about clarity of direction or communication. They could be about knowing yourself better, changing your attitudes, knowing your patterns and recognizing the effect of words of challenge. Milestone moments might result from difficult times following a stepping up of responsibility or accountability. It is often only in retrospect that we recognize the significance of particular milestones. Significant milestone moments might happen only a few times over an individual’s working life.
