Abstract: Abstract Groupe Danone SA (Danone), the French food and beverage conglomerate, is a successful company in many ways, and has earned the respect of many in China. It successfully introduced yogurt to Chinese consumers, and a generation of younger Chinese grew up with an array of Danone brands. A French icon, the company even raised the French government’s concern over national interests when it became the target of a hostile takeover launched by Pepsi in 2005.
