Chapter 3 in Economic Forecasting and Policy, 2011, pp 66-118 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter focuses on the forecasting of private real sector developments, including private consumption and investment, trade flows, employment, and wage and price inflation. These variables, which are close to ultimate policy goals such as a higher standard of living, full employment or low inflation, are of key interest to policy makers; they are thus central outcomes of forecasting exercises.
