Abstract:
The first steps of analysis of the original conversations led me to identify a number of discursive objects which had some bearing on the research. The four most relevant and recurrent were: music the consumer the record company technology Each of these four discursive objects was constructed in a number of different ways which were indicative of alternative, sometimes competing, views, not only of the objects themselves, but also indicative of broader views of music as a cultural industry.
