Chapter 6 in Preludes to the Icelandic Financial Crisis, 2011, pp 54-73 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The finding of the Central Bank’s previous Financial Stability report, in 2005, was that in spite of rapid expansion and the macroeconomic imbalances that needed to be tackled in the coming years, the Icelandic financial system was broadly sound. In the present report this overall finding is unchanged, but more challenging waters clearly lie ahead. The adjustment to changed conditions has already begun. It is important to keep a firm course and exercise caution in all respects.
