Chapter 52 in Managing People in a Downturn, 2011, pp 154-156 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract Every so often, we read about new ways to rehabilitate prisoners by making them face their victims. There are also various calls for victims to be more involved in setting punishments, rather than leaving it up to the law enforcers. Few crimes are victimless. Whilst at work, most people would argue it’s much more acceptable (and common) to steal from one’s employer than a colleague — liberating stationery is quite different from dipping into the till or another person’s wallet. And then there is stealing from the customer by over-charging or under-delivering.
