Chapter 2 in Motoring the Future, 2012, pp 26-119 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract It was Martin Winterkorn’s crowning moment. On February 3, 2010, the chairman of the Volkswagen Group stepped onto a small stage set up for him in the mirror-walled Paul Hamlyn Hall, the foyer of the venerable Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, London. Sporting a double-breasted suit, the head of Europe’s largest carmaker presented his corporation’s success story to over 120 investors and analysts gathered there. An additional 400 participants were following his presentation over the Internet.
