Chapter 11 in Forecasting, Warning and Responding to Transnational Risks, 2011, pp 169-186 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract In our work as risk consultants, we provide clients with analysis and consulting support to enable them to better understand the political, operational and security risks their investments and operations may encounter. Through analysis of the contextual background and the immediate and longer-term importance of unfolding political events and developments, we map the vulnerabilities of specific investments or projects — with the aim of forecasting potential events. In this chapter we provide an explanation of our approach, and discuss the challenges faced by risk consultancies when providing risk assessments and forecasting on behalf of companies seeking success in a broad range of complex environments and sectors globally.
