Modelling Transnational Environmental Risks: Scenarios for Decision Support
Fabian Wagner
Chapter 5 in Forecasting, Warning and Responding to Transnational Risks, 2011, pp 65-84 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Predicting the future has a long history. In European culture it can be traced back to prehistoric versions of astronomy, codified in Stonehenge and the Nebra Sky Disk. The notions of a well-ordered cosmos, of cyclical time, are intimately linked with the belief in a future that can be divined (Gould, 1987; Eliade, 1991).
