A chapter in An Enquiry into the Ideology and Reality of Market and Market System, 2011, pp 231-232 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Our thesis is that the theory of mercantifers and mercantifer systems, not Market, should provide the foundation of economic science, economic sociology and political economy in future. However, this does not mean that we urge that the term mercantifer should become part of the lexicon of social science. Indeed, acceptance of our thesis would be signalled by abandonment of the term “mercantifer” and employment of the definition and theory offered above to clarify the meaning of “market” the institution and to distinguish it from Market the concept.
