Abstract:
Abstract Within the context of multinational corporations (MNC) and their multiu-nit organizational structure, the manager’s work is increasingly located in different cultural environments. A hybrid type of international manager has recently appeared in host countries. The hybrid manager can be understood as a newcomer to a MNC. As newcomers they are supposed to have a positive impact on transaction cost between the expatriate managers dispatched from headquarters on the one side and the local staff at subsidiary location on the other side (Almeida and Kogut 1999, Granovetter 2005, Morrison 2002: 1156, Fussel et al. 2006: 158).
