Abstract: Abstract This chapter provides a broad statistical overview of the development of Nordic shipping in the period from 1960 to 2008. The general objective is descriptive rather than explanatory, aiming for a general presentation of the main trends in the development of shipping in the various Nordic countries during this period. In addition, the chapter offers an explicit comparison between the Nordic countries and between Nordic shipping and developments internationally.
