Faking it
Adrian Furnham
A chapter in The Talented Manager, 2012, pp 99-101 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Some people totally dismiss the idea of using questionnaires in selection, on the grounds that respondents can “fake their answers.” Paradoxically, the same people seem quite happy with selection on the basis of an interview, perhaps believing that interviewees couldn’t fake in this situation, or that faking would readily be spotted.
