A chapter in The Talented Manager, 2012, pp 128-130 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract Teachers and trainers can, and do, change lives. They can determine the choice of university and the courses taken. They can have a direct influence on career choices. They can light candles in the darkest mind. They model attitudes, beliefs and behaviors, thereby setting an example to follow. Most important, they can often help people find out what they are good at, passionate about and the things they do in a state of “flow”. In short, they help people find their strengths.
