The Inflation–Unemployment Trade-off
Vani Borooah
Chapter 6 in Growth, Unemployment, Distribution and Government, 1996, pp 48-56 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract It is a truth universally acknowledged that a country in possession of a low unemployment rate must be in search of an anti-inflationary policy. And, one could add, vice versa. This chapter reflects on the truth of this statement by examining the nature of the ‘trade-off’ between inflation and unemployment.
