Abstract:
Abstract Businesses have been traditionally structured around functional organisations that evolved from the principles promoted by Adam Smith two hundred years ago. His concepts were based upon dividing the manufacturing process into a number of simple tasks, and these principles became entrenched in our Western manufacturing practices.
