Abstract: Abstract In the preceding chapters, we have discussed major issues and problems as well as opportunities and challenges for major Asian countries for the development and support of new Asian regionalism and especially a recent important upshot of it, the free trade agreement between the 10 countries of the ASEAN and the East Asia 3 (namely, China, Japan and Korea), also known as the ASEAN+3. As we have noted from these chapters, economic regionalism is not a new concept but Asian regionalism is, and ASEAN+3 is an economic and political reality in the Asian region whose membership has subsequently been eagerly sought by such Oceania countries as Australia and New Zealand or even countries in the subcontinent (for example, India).
