Chapter 6 in Coping with Trade Reforms, 2006, pp 112-123 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Bulgaria has been undergoing almost 15 years of profound reforms in the process of transition to a market economy from a previously centrally planned system. Trade liberalization and integration into the multilateral trading system have been among the top priorities of the reform strategy. The country is also pursuing its strategic goal of joining the European Union (EU) by 1 January 2007. Its accession to the World Trade Organization in December 1996 was an important milestone.
