Chapter 4 in Welfare Capitalism in Taiwan, 1997, pp 64-74 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Taiwan, as one of the four little dragons in East Asia, has attracted quite a lot of students of its economic miracle. However, few pay attention to the social aspect, especially the development of state welfare in Taiwan. In this chapter, we are going to review the existing and most representative studies, whether written in Chinese or in English, which explain Taiwan’s welfare development. Ideally, this should give us more insight into Taiwan’s case.
