Chapter 3 in Project Analysis in Developing Countries, 1993, pp 44-73 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The construction of resource statements and the application of discounting are the basic tools of project analysis. However, the purpose of project analysis is to facilitate decision-taking on proposed projects, which requires a comparison of estimated benefits and costs. The purpose of this chapter is to outline the different ways in which this comparison can be made. It restricts itself to comparisons using discounted values of benefits and costs.1
