Chapter 10 in The Early Computer Industry, 2013, pp 298-315 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract The case studies provide the raw material for an explanation of the failure of broad-based electronics firms in the new market for commercial computers. We can now analyse more systematically the weaknesses of these firms, bring out their common faults and then contrast these failings with the systems adopted by the more successful firms.
