Abstract:
Abstract Dynamic capabilities literature and other academic research are working towards an understanding of how firms can develop and exploit managerial capabilities to create and support innovation in a firm. Lawson and Samson (2001) explore seven factors which, if in place, will make a firm ‘innovation capable’, these are ‘Vision and strategy Harnessing the competence base Organisational intelligence Creativity and idea management Organisational structure & systems Culture and climate Management of technology’ (Lawson and Samson 2001: 377).
