The Value-for-Engagement Model

Donatella Padua ()

Chapter 8 in Trust, Social Relations and Engagement, 2012, pp 167-190 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Executive summary The aim of the Value-for-Engagement model is to explain how to increase engagement through building trust and how to measure results. Based on the Value-for-Engagement concept, the model explains the positive correlation between trust, social relations and engagement. In the VfE model, value is created when social relations are generated in all four dimensions of time, space, action and emotion. This leads to the production of social capital based on the generation of relational goods: the building blocks of reputation. The VfE model helps to answer the following questions: How to build trust? Is there a positive relationship between trust and engagement? How to convey a trust strategy to build engagement? How to verify if trust is effectively building value for engagement?
