Mary Bergstrom
Chapter Chapter 6 in All Eyes East, 2012, pp 147-173 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract As part of an investigation into non-mainstream expression in different cities, I had the opportunity to interview the lead singer of a rock band called Groupie about local trends and subcultures. Living in Shenzhen, a coastal city fed by its status as a special economic zone, Denya (aka Xi Teng), the lead singer, had a bird’s-eye view into how young people were styling rebellion.
