Personal Characteristics and Cognitive Complexity Required by the New Technologies
Dimitris N. Chorafas
Chapter 10 in Outsourcing, Insourcing and IT for Enterprise Management, 2003, pp 215-240 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract One of the most fundamental issues which will characterise business and industry in the twenty-first century is that more intellectual effort will be organised around the problem to be solved than around traditional functions such as production or marketing. Because of this, a high premium is being put on skill and know-how, as well as on the personality characteristics of knowledge workers and the manner in which these match the work to be done.
