The Creative Enterprise

Philippe Woot

Chapter 1 in Should Prometheus Be Bound?, 2005, pp 3-14 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract To question the raison d’être1 of the enterprise, and the model it inspires, is to question material progress, its orientation and its ambiguities. This topic has preoccupied human beings since the beginnings of civilization. Using Greek myths as our departure point we shall put it in its true perspective, which lies in man’s creativity and anxiety.
