Abstract:
Abstract This study attempted to deal with a number of different, disparate and complimentary issues as it investigated theoretical frameworks and methodological approaches as means of enabling greater understanding and explanation of social sciences in general and political science and European integration in particular. This work attempted to mix paradigms of inquiry and through an empirical study of insurance and broader financial services provided an understanding of European integration and Europeanization. Indeed, through the same empirical study the analysis identified levels of theory and how they may best explain the European Union (EU). Overall, the work illustrated the interactive nature of theory and practice in providing understanding and explanation of political phenomenon.
