Is the Asian Miracle a Myth?

Haider Khan ()

Chapter 3 in Interpreting East Asian Growth and Innovation, 2004, pp 17-31 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract We saw in the last chapter that the theoretical project outlined by Lucas takes the fact of a ‘miracle’ as a given. Therefore, the interpretation of growth as a miracle is seen as the empirical problem that requires a theoretical explanation. We have also discussed extensively the particular explanation advanced by Lucas.
