Chapter 2 in Problem-Driven Management, 2004, pp 24-43 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract In this chapter, we discuss the main properties of knowledge from the firm’s point of view. We start with the more general management properties that make knowledge one of the firm’s assets. We will then consider the taxonomies of knowledge that help to organize it. Finally, the chapter includes a series of complementary but highly important issues such as knowledge materializations, knowledge in intellectual processes, collective knowledge, and the firm’s core competencies.
