Chapter Chapter 8 in Nonprofit Organizations, 2006, pp 148-158 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract We began this book by describing how much progress has been made over the past few years to improve nonprofit organizations’ management. As we mentioned in the first chapter, it is safe to say that, in general terms, the nonprofit sector has left behind the “goodwill” culture, based on “doing good”, that characterized it for a number of years, to move on to a new working philosophy that embraces the notion of “doing good well”. This mindset change implies a significant qualitative leap that greatly contributes to the definite development and strengthening of the third sector as the true “third pillar” in our democratic society.
