Abstract:
Abstract We have looked at the theory behind development coaching with a particular focus on leadership. We have examined three case studies illustrating the work and have outlined the processes involved in a typical coaching contract. In order to provide the basis against which the reader may assess a potential coach and/or his or her own fit with this growing profession, we now review the competencies required of a professional development coach: the knowledge, understanding and skills involved.
