Abstract:
Abstract This German Model is history, the politicians know it, the labour unions, the employers’ associations, the remaining countless lobby groups within the society. The parties know it as well … the economists know it, pension experts, tax experts. And the … population? The unemployed have known it for a long time, the pensioners have already recognized it too, and those in jobs at least foresee it. (Süßkind, 1996, my translation1).
