Abstract:
Abstract As part of the preparation for this book, a study was conducted to explore the dynamics of public-private research partnerships in the context of US-European research collaboration. In particular, the study analyzes a set of scientific publications where at least one co-author is based in the United States and one is based in the European Union, and which involve researchers from both private firms and public sector institutions. The results of this analysis are intended to inform both corporate managers and policy-makers about the nature of such collaborations and their impact on both private and public innovation systems.
