Chapter 10 in Emotional Impact, 2001, pp 99-111 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract This chapter is also about leaders and transformation. It is, however, different from our earlier stories in that it focuses on a business transformation and the subsequent rebuilding of a major organisation, told from the perspective of two individuals who were part of the 60-strong leadership team involved in this change. The transformation itself is somewhat unusual in that, unlike, and contrary to, much of what our own consulting experience has shown us, it was not driven by a single leader but rather by a leadership team of very different sorts of people in multiple locations around the world – indeed the transformation was highly significant in confirming the culture of the team and cementing the individuals together in such a way that, ten years later, very nearly all of the players are still with the business today.
