Chapter 3 in Emotional Impact, 2001, pp 10-17 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Change is inevitable, natural and a part of life. According to most commentators and, indeed, to observable experience, change is happening more and more rapidly. This rate of change will continue to increase as we move through the early part of this new millennium. Often we talk about this acceleration as exciting and challenging, yet when it impacts us on a personal basis change can be, and is, hugely threatening. Change by definition means letting go of what we have previously done or held on to; it means doing something different. Undertaking a new challenge requires faith, courage, insight and resilience. It can often mean stepping off a precipice into the unknown.
