The selling of banking services on the internet puts current accounting systems under stress
Dimitris N. Chorafas
Chapter 5 in The internet supply chain, 2001, pp 97-122 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The theme of Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 has been cutting costs with a sharp knife by means of purchasing on the Internet, whether through joint ventures or a lone wolf approach. The subject of this chapter is selling services. I have chosen selling banking products and services as the main topic because there is no better example than online banking with the opportunities and risks it presents, including its effects on the institution’s accounting system.
